Blind you were
and
you couldn’t see,
somewhere behind your visions
of what you expected of me,
just who I had become.
One to be so proud of,
this much is true,
if you had only taken the time
to see just what I was,
instead of what I wasn’t.
Finally,
though from the great beyond,
for that is what it took,
to see from far away,
you saw and said,
There once was a day that I did see,
you to be, what I couldn’t be,
and to live my dreams through you,
and of those dreams, I have let go,
and now I know, this much is true,
I was blind, but now I see,
all the things you were to me
I once had visions that you would be
all the things I dreamed of thee,
and yet you went your own way,
to become who you’ve become
and for such a time I could not see
for you weren’t what
I thought you should be,
in my minds eye.
And I was too blind
to be able to see,
the person you’d become.
Not my vision, this is true,
but oh so special are you,
now that I finally see,
all the things you be,
and now,
I thank
procreation,
revelation,
realization.
