Stretched to limits

I held my heart out to her,
arms stretched to the limit,
in a time undefined.

I begged her to take hold
of this gift once more
and hold it to her heart.

But it was not to be, she said ,
with actions and again.

As my arms, they grow so weary,
the time becomes defined,
as my choices grow to none.

So let us say once we had it all,
though now forever lost,
due to hearts not willing to bend,
and no forgiveness for mistakes gone by.
