Beyond Repair

I damaged her love for me
beyond repair,
and chased it far away.

I damaged her love for me
beyond repair,
and do regret it, in every way.

She didn’t think I loved her,
and how was she to know?

I kept the love hidden deep inside,
afraid to let is show.

Now with her love, she did go,
and broke my heart in two.

What is a man, so in love,
still missing her, to do?

When I think of how I hurt her,
and drove her love away,
I have a hard time living with myself.

When I think of how I hurt her,
each and every day,
I can see why she put
her heart up on that shelf.

When I think of how I hurt her,
in each and every way,
I finally realize,
I have no one to blame,
but myself.
