French Onion SoupNOTE: taste as you go and adjust amounts........ Three large Yellow onions, what ever kind you like. I like to use sweet onions. Two cloves of garlic, if you like garlic. Saute in about a sticks of butter (real please), and a big splash of extra extra virgin olive oil to slight carmel browned. (important!) Three cans of beef broth and or make your own. (dump contents of onion pan, butter, olive oil, etc. into big soup pot with broth) add a dashof garlic powder, and a table spoon of dried chopped onions, salt, and pepper to pot. add one table spoon of "Kikkoman" soy sauce and one table spoon of "Lea & Perrins" worcestershire sauce. Toast thinkly sliced french bread and place in a bowl Place swiss cheese, or what ever type you prefer on top of the toasted bread. Apply totally hot soup on top and enjoy. |
