on a bet

I came to you on a bet,
I hope you don't mind.

I bet in you I'd find love,
if given enough time.

If you help me
win my bet,
you'll be a winner too.

You see I bet myself
I could fall in love with you,

for now and all times,
if you'd only love me back,

if you cut this sucker an even break
and just a little slack.

And if you did,
I'd win my bet,
and get this prize so grand,

to walk along beside you,
with my hand in your hand.

Open up your heart,
and see the love inside,

the love just there
for me alone,

that you could
no longer hide.

I'd have you
to have and hold,
for all the world
to see.

And you would be
a winner too,

for you'd have
my heart to hold,

a strong one full of love,
that never would grow old.
