My Prayer

I saw her again last night,
and I faced the promises
of a bright new day,
I did pray.

I held her and we danced,
if only for a while,
as I looked into her eyes.

And Heaven in those eyes,
was still there to see,
but no longer for me.

And I died,
and I died,
and I died inside.

So, I went home and to sleep,
and dreamed of she and I,
riding on my bike,
through town and parks.

It was heaven all over again,
and again,
and again.

I was so full of her love,
and woke to such a high,
then reality set in,
and I wanted to die,
wanted to die,
wanted to die, please Lord.

So I said a little prayer,
and it goes something like this.

``````````
Now I lay me down to sleep,
I pray oh Lord, my soul please take,
for I shall die when upon I wake,
from all this pain and this heartache.
I lost my love and I don't know how,
I can survive without her now.
Now I lay me down to die,
please take me Lord,
I want to die,
For I do not want to wake,
for all this pain I can not take.
She has taken her love away,
and I can not live without her,
another day.
