In the darkness, there I stood,
when over my shoulder I did glance.
And a glimpse I caught of a light so bright,
and as I turn, there you stood,
a vision of heaven,
smile shining so intensely,
I nearly lost my breath,
my heart, it skipped a beat.
As I looked into your eyes
a glow within I saw,
coming from your soul.
A warm inviting glow,
coming from the light within.
Gifted with a rare talent
for detecting inner beauty,
I saw it in your light,
the light that
caught my eye,
The light that draws me to you.
Dare I take this risk,
reaching for your hand,
that we might walk together
for a time?
Dare I take the risk,
that I be made a fool?
or dare I pass you by,
and then I'll never know,
the beauty that you hold in store?
And dare you take the risk,
holding of my hand,
and walking with me this walk?
or dare you pass me by,
and then you'll never know,
the beauty that my heart holds in store?
For should you take the time
and look into my eyes,
I'm sure that you would see,
the same light glowing,
that draws me to you.
