I to her

Someday she might realize,
 just how much I cared.

Someday she might realize,
I’d have always been there.

To hold her and kiss her
for the rest of my life.

To be her everything,
and make her my wife.

Some day she might realize,
what she left behind,

and it might kill her inside,
in just the same way,

as it is now killing me,
so deep.

A kinder and gentler man,
she might never find,
true to her in every way.

And she could search high,
and she could search low,
until the time she might see,

she left behind her
soul mate,
the one she found in me.

No one could ever love her more,
why wasn’t that easy for her to see,

In my smile, and in my touch,
and in the things she was to me,

and I to her?
