Indian Summer River Road Run

Indian summer
don't go away,

a dusting of snow,
you melted today,

sun in my face,
wind in my hair,
as leather and wind collide,

rolling thunder unleashed,
twin Harley pistons,
pounding away,

throttle wide open,
redline in sight,

ice in the river,
flows along side,

a tugboat breaks through,
as the ice chunks, they flow,

the tugboat, it paces me,
then I pull away,

bare trees and bluff
on the other side,

winters grip holds on,
not a leaf to see,

ribbon of road
under my wheels,

hopping the bars,
from beer to beer,

riding my bike,
I love it this way.
