Our Firsts

Each and every happy ending
must have a place to start,

and mine started on that fate filled night,
as I approached you from over shoulder.

These were our first
of wondrous moments shared,
I shall remember always,
etched deeply into my soul.

That first hello
that would open this door,
as you let me step inside,
to such heavenly place.

That first of smiles from heart to heart,
deeper and deeper yet, by the smile,
has me dreaming of many more,
in an endlessly flowing supply.

The first of dances one by one,
as we made that floor our own,
and I spun you round and round,
while we danced our night away.

Yes, it was our night,
yours and mine alone,
together as we were.

And with our first slow dance,
came our first embrace.

In my arms, you fit just right,
as I did hold you, oh so tight.

The first of dates, I dream to be,
with not a last, to ever see.

The first of kisses,
I do dare to of dream,
lips to lips from hearts.

The first of sparks do fly, without a doubt,
as this, our world, does hear me shout,
as I look up to the skies.

Thank you, heaven above,
for this heavenly angel
you sent to me,
to have and to hold.
