everlast

Wouldn’t that be something,
if a persons character was plain to see,
worn outside like the style of hair,

or the twinkle in eye and sparkle of smile.

But those things have to be learn,
by the day by day.

And changes over time could come,
as they evolve into someone
strange and different,
from the one we use to know,

and how do these things happen,
for me it’s hard to know,

for who I am is written in stone,
steadfast and true, everlasting.
