I’m running as fast as I can,
and my legs grow oh so weary,
from this race I run to nowhere,
with no finish line in sight.
My needle’s below empty,
as I run on nothing but fumes.
And what is life about?
At times I thought I knew,
but now, I really wonder,
if the dreams of a dreamer,
could ever come true?
There was a time
I thought I saw them,
right before my eyes,
but for now, I can only question,
their validity, and just wonder why.
My dreams are no more,
but then no less,
as anybodies are.
And if I don’t reach for them,
I’ll never reach my star.
They say that up there,
one does twinkle,
for you and one for I,
And I think I saw my twinkle,
the one I put into your eye.
Tell me I was dreaming,
in the ways I looked at you,
and tell me sometimes, just maybe,
a dreamers dream could come true.
