Dam you, world

Once I was someone so special to her.
Oh, how I long for those days.

How could I ever have let
her precious love slip away?

The tears, they flow so heavily,
to try to wash away this pain.

I feel as though
the biggest part of me
is missing,

and it is why I was so slow
to let my feelings for her be known,
to her as well as myself.

For how can one's departure
hurt another,
if love is not there,
but it was, and so deep.

So, why did she have to go,
why would she give up and leave.

Wasn't I good to her?
I know I was.

Didn't I love her enough?
I know I did.

Didn't she love me?
I thought she did.

So why did she have to go?

I pace the floors of this empty house,
that were once filled with the joys,
of her grace and beauty and loving ways.

The tears of loss, they are so real.
The pain so overwhelming.

How is it this can be,
she felt she had to leave me.

In her absence my life, it has no meaning.

Oh, but to lose your best friend,
your lover and your soul mate
in one felled swoop.

What could be worse, nothing I say,
but here I find myself,
with her not by my side,

and what can I do,
but try to accept this thing
that I can not accept.

If she truly knew how much I loved her,
if she really knew how much I care,
would she have left, just the same?

This I'll never know.

Oh, Cruel world, that would do this,
to my kind and gentle heart.

Dam, you world.... Dam you…………

What can I do, what can I say,
That would bring my angel
back to stay?

End madness,
and let something snap in her heart,
and bring her love back to stay.
