So many tempting offers,
and yet, I must beware,
as I find myself in these vulnerable times,
with heart worn on sleeve, exposed.
Wounds still fresh and seeping,
with this profound sense
of sadness and sorrow,
loneliness and emptiness,
as I rebound off of this solid wall,
and land so hard, I know not where.
But careful I must be,
as to where I just might fall.
This is the time,
that hearts,
I just could break,
as I search for the things I need,
the things I once had,
now taken from me.
Stepping stones, is one thing
I don’t want to leave a trail of,
as I make my way to where,
I now can not see.
