As I walked through misty morn,
my eyes rang in tune,
with a mist of their own.
Tears came tumbling down,
accompanied by the sobs,
and
the convulsing a heart does do,
when hurt so deep to core.
My dreams,
my beautiful dreams,
of we,
of she,
of us,
of our
future.
Where have they gone,
somehow out of reach,
seemingly so.
What have they become,
a thing, once of the greatest
of beauty,
somehow now
so warped,
and perverted.
To see them
going up in smoke,
fading away,
without refrain,
oh, it brings such great pain.
I once held these dreams
so close to heart,
they were my everything.
They filled me so full
of things so good,
hope,
joy,
faith,
contentment,
in the knowing
you were mine.
All these things
and so much more.
I still search for the hope,
I dream of finding
round the next of bends,
but too many times,
when I round that bend,
in my search
for hopes chance,
there is just a boot,
waiting to kick this love of ours,
right square in the teeth,
again and again, endlessly.
I cling to my dreams
of that hope
to be found,
and seek it with all my heart,
but will never find it,
alone.
