She once
was mine,
for a time,
a time so short,
a time so sweet,
a time so gone.
I think about her
now and then,
and
then and now,
again and again.
I think about her
night and day,
and
day and night.
again and again.
Again and again,
and
once again.
But only in my sleep,
and only in my dreams,
and only in my heart,
and only in my
every waking moment.
I had her
by my side,
held her,
kissed her,
loved her.
We walked
hand in hand,
heart to heart.
To have her walk away.
No warning, not a sign,
she was there
then she was not.
All that remains is a ghost,
where she once stood,
by my side.
her ghost,
haunting my mind,
taunting my soul
The bonds are broken,
the trust is lost,
the heart weeps,
the pain remains,
as but a reminder,
of a love,
once so true.
I learn of the wayward
ways that love can go,
But will I ever learn
to watch it go,
without a tear?
I hope not.
