falling in love

We were falling in love,
you and I,

that's what it was,
that's what it was,

Yes, I saw it for what it was,
and I think that you did too,

though you insisted to your heart,
that you would deny,
told your self it was a lie,

so this is how love dies,
stifled in it's infancy,
this gift we did receive,

something quite so rare,
and hard to believe…

but I did believe
for I am not blind
and I could see it every time.

So the sign of the cross,
stripped you from we,

and I still wonder till this day,
who could be holier than me,

when God looks down and he does see,
gifts given, taken to the limit,
by the hand of this man.

All but the greatest gift,
out of my hands,

fear and logics casualty,
in a world were love does not always win.
