I had in mind a shirt so rare. I could picture it perfectly right there in my mind's eye.

I had never seen one in the flesh, but only in my mind.

So, I set out on my journey, to find this imaginary shirt.

I searched high, and I searched low, and left no stone unturned.

I had looked in every known place, and many, unknown to me, til my journey took me to them.

I had all but given up on finding this shirt, pictured only in my mind's eye, and was almost convinced, that it existed only there in my mind, when in the last place I did look, there I did see, the shirt I did seek.

It was cut just as my vision saw it to be, and it's color was exactly that which my journey did seek.

I found that they had my very size which was a rarity in and of itself. I tried it on and it fit perfectly. I looked into the mirror, to see if it would please my eye as I knew it would.

It looked even better than I could have ever imagined. I looked like a movie star or a prince, to be envied by all.

I took my prize and walked strait up to the checkout, to make it mine, but feet from the counter I did hesitate. It was a bit pricey, after all. What if there was a shirt out there somewhere, that might fit me better, or cost less in price?

I decided to do just a tiny bit more looking, and would come back if the one more place, I had in mind, could not do me better.

So I put it back, on the rack, and continued my journey to that one more place. There was nothing there that could compare to the prize I had search so far and hard for.

I went back to the store, to claim my prize, and all to my surprise, it was gone, for ever gone. I think it was a one of a kind in just my size, maybe even made for me alone.

I felt like such a fool, for I searched so far and wide to finally find my dream, only to let it slip away, to never again be seen.

I would have paid any price, then and there, if only another chance was given, but it was all too late.

To me, this was a very valuable lesson learned at great price. Since that day, if I look for, then find my dream come true, just as I did in you, I hold on tight, with all my might, but if you won't hold on too, there is nothing I can do, but watch you fade away.

Will I be that shirt you searched for all your life, then put back on the rack, only to return for it, once it is gone?

Some where someone will see the value in me, and treasure what I am, for ever and a day, I pray, if this person can't be you, till all too late.
