As fool I be,
I did stand
on the “fast train” tracks
mesmerized by your speed,
high on the prize,
before my eyes,
that my heart
did see.
It beat for you,
without a clue,
of the things
you would do.
You came so fast
and ran me down,
before I ever knew,
but I can't blame you,
for you told me
who you were,
and what you were,
but still I did stay,
praying for some way,
to change your order
of the day with my love.
But fools deserve to be fooled,
when with the fooler,
they do lay,
I put my self
in harms way,
though I heard
your whistle blow,
as you tried to let me know,
just what you would do.
But my problem was,
my love for you,
it was so deep and true.
So here I lay,
just blown away,
in devastating shock,
right where fool I belong.
