til end

I like to think
we are not weak,

the world,
it is
just so hard,
and so cold,

and
so challenging
and
unforgiving
and
complex,

but our hearts
do not have to be.

To fight the quicksand only serves
to make one sink much faster.

We try to swim upstream,
against
the currents
and
the flow

and lose ground all the while.

Oh to ride the current,
and go with the flow.

The water still
must be tread,
treacherous as it be,

filled with danger
where perils abound.

But
with helping hand in hand,
the two stronger than one,
this challenge be faced,
this thing called life.

And we may not wind on top of heap,
but still til end survive.
